Finance Minister set to present 2022 Budget on November 17

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has announced that Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta will present the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of government for the 2022 financial year on November 17. The Majority Leader announced this on Tuesday when Parliament resumed sitting. The Finance Ministry had earlier set November 15 as the date to present the budget before the House. According to the Electoral body, not only has the election been hailed as highly transparent, fair, credible, and inclusive, it was also a reflection of the will of the people. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, October 25, the Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, in charge of General Services, Dr Bossman Asare said, “we refute his scoring. The good people of Ghana who experienced our processes are the best judges. Former President John Mahama has described the 2020 polls as the worst election in Ghana’s history. According to him, the election was marred by numerous irregularities which are unprecedented in the history of the country. “2020 was Ghana’s worst election. Security agencies tasked to make findings on 2020 election violence public

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, has urged the security agencies to make public the findings from the investigations conducted into the circumstances that led to the killing of seven persons during the 2020 general elections. According to Jean Mensa, the recommendations will make elections in subsequent years better. Speaking at a high-level ECOWAS Parliamentary Seminar in Winneba, Jean Mensa described the loss of seven lives as sad. “Sadly, seven lives were lost, and though these did not occur at our polling stations or arise as a result of misconduct on our part, one life lost is one too many. We are hoping that our security agencies will share their findings and recommendations for future learning”.
