No TIN ,No Business Transactions- Mr Emmanuel Kofi Nti

Commissioner General of  the Ghana Revenue Authority Mr Emmanuel Kofi Nti has announced to all individuals to ensure that they have acquired a Taxpayer Identification Number without which they will be unable to transact business.

A Taxpayer Identification Number is a special number generated by GRA for persons including corporate entities upon application.

Addressing Journalists in Accra yesterday Mr. Kofi Nti stated that effective 3rd April, all individuals without the TIN  would be denied access to drivers license,open bank accounts, have a passport or or be able to transact business with any state institution.

 He added that institutions such as the passport office,DVLA, GRA, Land Commission and the Law Court would all require a TIN in order to provide services to clients. After implementation of the  policy yesterday, he urged all public institutions and banks to be on the look out and not transact businesses with individuals without a TIN.
