Government Moves To Dissolve GFA

Government has declared clear intentions of dissolving the Ghana Football Association (GFA). This follows the public show of the documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas "NUMBER 12" which revealed in entirety the manner of fraud and corruption in the GFA.

A Statement issued by the Minister of Information, Mr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid yesterday read that government was shocked and outraged  at the contents of the recently-aired video. The government also said it will communicate provisional measures to govern football activity in the country after taking steps to dissolve the GFA.

Government also says decisions made will be communicated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) as soon as possible to find the way forward.

Meanwhile, Minister of Sports, Mr Issac Asiama has confirmed the dissolution of the GFA stating that officials could no longer hold themselves out as FA officials.
