Mfantseman MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford Shot Dead Whiles on the Elections Campaign Trail

The Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford has been reportedly shot dead by alleged highway robbers.

He was killed by unidentified gunmen while returning from a campaign at Nkusukum on the Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road on Friday 9th October 2020 around 1:00am dawn.

The Mfantseman NPP Constitituency first vice Chairman popularly known as Wofa Yaw confirmed the news.

The body has been deposited at the Saltpond Hospital Mortuary, while police investigation commences.

The robbers according to the report shot the driver of his car after he refused to stop when they signalled him. They then reportedly dragged the MP out of the car and started questioning him.

The MP identified himself but that reportedly annoyed them as one of the robbers who was reportedly interrogating the MP blamed him for inflicting hardship on them.

He was then shot twice, leading to his untimely demise.
