New Mobile Money Payment Interoperability System Takes Off

 Vice President of the Republic of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia Yesterday 11th May launched the first ever Mobile Money Interoperability System in Accra.

The service allows uninterrupted transfer of funds from one mobile money wallet to all other mobile network and also cause monies to be moved from mobile money accounts to various bank accounts without any challenges. This the Vice President said would create a more convenient way to access money and also improve domestic revenue mobilization.

He also added that the new system would be a means to involving the informal sector into contributing to economic growth. He thus applauded all financial stakeholders for working hard to implement the Mobile Money Interoperability System.

Meanwhile, Fintech experts have said that there will be a release of phase two of the interoperability platform which will complete the financial inclusion triangle by ensuring movement of monies across banks,e-zwich and Telcos.
