Tony Lithur Files For Divorce

Husband to former politician and gender activist Mrs Oye Lithur  has filed a petition at the divorce and matrimonial division of a high Court in Accra, seeking to bring to an end his 27 years of marriage with Mrs Oye Lithur.

Mr Tony Lithur stated as part of his reasons for divorcing his wife that, his wife possessed very cruel and violent traits which largely went against her stance as the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Protection.

He also added that aside being aggressive, the former minister most often threatened verbal abuse and physically beat up household staff and even relatives who came to live with them.

In his petition he also mentioned that his wife was neither a wife or a mother but was rather concerned with her public image and payed little attention to the passing needs of her children.

Meanwhile, the court has requested the presence of Mrs Oye Lithur to answer to the petition within eight days.
